The 1st Transportation Days Workshop organized by Yalova University Faculty of Engineering Transport Engineering Club was held in the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences July 15th Conference Hall. In addition to the speakers at the workshop, Yalova Municipality Deputy Mayor Adil Ürekli Yalova University Vice Rector. Dr. Mustafa Öksüz, Acting Dean, Faculty of Engineering Dr. Mustafa Öztaş, academics working in the Department of Transportation Engineering, students of the Transportation Engineering Department and other invitees attended.
Making the opening speech of the program, the President of the Transport Engineering Club, Mehmet Yazıcı, by defining the Transport Engineering, explained the work they did during their undergraduate education and the transportation projects they were in. Yazıcı, who wished the workshop to be successful, thanked the participants, especially the sector representatives.
Professor of Transport Engineering Department Dr. Rafet they Valens founder Transportation Engineering underlined that Turkey's first Department of Transport Engineering Department. Stating that Yalova University Transportation Engineering Department will give its first graduates this year, Bozdoğan said that they believe that they will make important contributions to solving the transportation problems of our region and our country.
Dean, Faculty of Engineering Dr. In his speech at Mustafa Öztaş, he stated that this program, organized by Transportation Engineering, would make a significant contribution to the promotion of Transportation Engineering, and wished the workshop to be successful.
In his speech, Deputy Mayor of Yalova Municipality, Adil Ürekli expressed his belief that this kind of workshops will continue to increase in the coming years, and that they are ready to give Yalova University every kind of support as Yalova Municipality.
After the opening and protocol speeches, workshops were started. In the first session of the workshop with the theme “Smart Transportation, Smart Cities”, Yalova University Transportation Engineering Department. Moderated by Faculty Member Yavuz Delice, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Department Head Yunus Emre Ayözen and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality İSBAK A.Ş. General Manager Muhammed Alygülü made their presentations. In his presentation, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Transportation Department Head Yunus Emre Ayözen talked about Istanbul's transportation data for 2017 and explained the works. Mohammed Alygülü, General Manager of Istanbul Informatics and Smart City Technologies (İSBAK) A.Ş also explained the activities of İSBAK.
In the second session of the workshop on the Operation and Management of Transportation Systems, Faculty of Transport Engineering Department Assoc. Dr. Eray Can moderated by IETT General Directorate Bus Operations Department Head Ayhan Ayvaz and Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Public Transportation Department Head Salih Kumbar made presentations on the future of public transportation and new technologies used in public transportation.
In the third session on Construction, Maintenance and Repair of Transportation Infrastructures, Dr. Moderated by Yalçın Eyigün, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Rail Systems Department Head Turgay Gökdemir and Kalyon Construction Executive Board Member Onat BİTİK made presentations on the fields and informed the participants.
In the last session on logistics, Prof. Dr. Moderated by Metin Çancı, Cavit Uğur, General Manager of International Transport and Logistics Service Providers Association (UTİKAD), and Cavit Değirmenci, Chairman of EKOL Logistics Fleet, shared their latest developments and professional experiences in the field of logistics.
Organized by Yalova University Engineering Faculty Transportation Engineering Club, the 1st Transportation Days workshop ended after a question and answer session and a plaque presentation to the speakers.
